My hands are all cut up and although I had to completely restart once, i’m pretty happy.
I started by first cleaning the blade under warm water and drying with a cotton cloth. Then I took 80 grit sandpaper and slowly sanded the blade in a circular motion. This alone was enough to get all the rust off. After an hour or so I switched to the 120 grit and continued sanding in a circular motion while paying close attention to any of the cracks or area’s with little pieces missing.
I’ve managed to cut myself badly twice in one day, and both times were while sanding and watching TV at the same time and both cuts bled for hours.
Now that this is done I will begin to sand the blade with 200/400 & 600 grit sandpaper. This should in theory start giving the blade it’s luster back and it should start being able to reflect light soon enough. And before I know it i’ll be shaving like a true gentleman!
