For one reason or another, I have been feeling a little better as of late. Ideas are flowing, I’ve been making playlists for my podcast and am thinking about trying my hand once again at some basic programming(understanding programming language would greatly improve how I function with my web).
Going to see the World Press Photo event last night inspired me. The second floor had a section reserved for local documentary photography talent and I thought to myself: I can do that. I have been sitting on 5 years worth of tree planting pictures. A lot are ordinary and some are bad, but I truly believe that there are some special pictures among them; pictures that honestly capture the life of a Canadian forestry worker. The point is is that, I’m going to finish working on this past summers work and look into submitting a portfolio to some small art/photo magazines. I could get nothing but rejection letters but it is better than not doing it.
After a year in a creative slump, I am slowly crawling my way out.

Good for you. The only way really is to network a bunch and show your work to people. My friend Laurence (who’s website/contact info I sent you more than once I think…) now works in Paris for a photo magazine by doing just that, networking, submitting photos and working as an assistant for a photographer.
In case interested, she works at Polka Magazine (http://www.polkamagazine.com/) Her portfolio: http://www.lbrphoto.ca/
